Time has somewhat change the dress sense of people from those days where it used to be only suits for business, nowadays they are more relaxed and receptive as well-dressed skirts and sports jackets are allowed for as long as it is not obscene or too gaudy.

One other factor that may have influence this way of thinking would be the reduce of working days from five and a half days in a week when it used to be to five and sometimes four days of work currently. Noticeably though, almost all business organization now feel the need to instruct or regulate specific guidelines and controls to their employees. This would imply that many employees are confused or fail to differentiate what really is business casual for women or men, for that matter. It has becomes more inappropriate than appropriate or unsuitable than suitable.

In conclusion, business casual for women and men are all about comfort and self-expression and for as long as the boss never expresses his or her dissatisfaction directly then maybe one is appropriate after all.
